How Mitel Connects the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s Increasingly Mobile Workforce

Seamless Mitel-based communications are now ensuring Make-A-Wish not only operates smoothly as a foundation, but that it successfully makes wishes come true – whether that’s a child riding a fire truck or flying hundreds of miles for a family getaway.

The process of fulfilling a wish every 37 minutes requires keeping a large workforce in constant contact as they plan and implement life-changing experiences for kids.

To keep the organization’s 62 chapters and 27,000 active members connected, Make-A-Wish realized that outdated and unintegrated technologies were holding back their dispersed, often mobile workforce.

The solution was the nationwide deployment of new VoIP capabilities on the Mitel MiVoice communications platform – coupled with the MiCollab collaboration app on users’ mobile devices. Together, they’ve brought the foundation up-to-date, providing staff and volunteers with the ability to identify callers, easily forward calls, check availability, track phone activity, and collaborate from remote locations with audio and web conferencing, as well as instant messaging.
