CTS Earns 2026 Zoom Up Silver Partner Recognition for Zoom Phone Deployment

Zoom has recognized Chesapeake Telephone Systems, Inc. (CTS) as a 2026 Zoom Up Silver Partner for Zoom Phone services deployment. The category is Services — Deployment — Phone.

What does that mean for our customers?

It means Zoom has recognized CTS for our Zoom Phone deployment capabilities.

When you are replacing an aging phone system or moving communications to the cloud, choosing the right technology is only half the equation. Choosing the right partner to implement it matters just as much. With CTS, you get Zoom’s powerful communications platform backed by an experienced team that can design, deploy, and support your solution.

The rest of this post is about what that second half actually involves, because it is the part of a phone system project that gets the least attention and decides the most.

What the recognition is for

It is a services designation rather than a sales one. The category is deployment, specifically Zoom Phone deployment, and it reflects the work of getting a phone system from a signed order to a working system: the design, the configuration, the migration, and the support afterward.

That is the part a customer experiences. The platform is the same wherever you buy it. How well it lands in your building is not.

What good delivery looks like

Four things shape how a Zoom Phone project goes, and all four are decided before anyone plugs in a phone.

  1. Number porting, planned around the cutover. Your main number is on a customer’s contact list, in every directory, on the side of a vehicle. Porting is a carrier-to-carrier process with a timeline nobody fully controls, so the work is in getting the paperwork exactly right the first time and scheduling the cutover around the port rather than hoping it lands.
  2. Call flows built around how you actually work. A platform gives you auto attendants, ring groups, hunt sequences and hours of operation. Which of those you need depends on whether your front desk covers two departments, who handles after-hours emergencies, and what must never go to voicemail during business hours. That is a conversation first and a configuration second.
  3. A network checked before the order, not after. Cloud voice rides your network, which makes the network part of the phone system. Voice prioritization on the switches, enough PoE budget for the phones, and an internet circuit with failover are all straightforward to confirm in advance — and all much harder to discover on day one.
  4. A cutover that is a decision, not a leap. Devices staged and tested beforehand, a rollback that genuinely works, and somebody on site who knows both the old system and the new one. That is the difference between a Monday nobody remembers and a Monday everybody does.

What a local partner adds

Certification is an assessment against Zoom’s own standard rather than a self-declaration, which is worth something. What customers tell us they value more is what comes with it locally.

The questions asked before the quote rather than after it. A network assessment that happens before anyone orders phones. And when something needs attention at 7 AM, a team that knows your building, has been in your closet, and can be there.

For organizations in Maryland, DC, Virginia and Delaware, that last part tends to be the one that matters on the day it matters.

Buying direct, and when it makes sense

Worth saying plainly: you can buy Zoom directly from Zoom, and for some organizations that is the right call. If you have internal IT staff who have deployed cloud voice before, a single location, straightforward call flows and no legacy system to migrate, direct is simple and the licensing is identical.

Where a partner earns the difference is complexity: multiple buildings, a premise system wired into paging or life safety, a port of any size, analog devices that still need to work, or an organization with no one internally whose job this is. The licensing cost is not higher through a partner and may actually be lower than purchasing direct. The delivery is what differs.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Zoom Up Partner Program?

It is Zoom’s partner program. Partners are recognized across different categories and tiers; CTS holds a 2026 Silver recognition in the Services category for Zoom Phone deployment.

Does buying Zoom through a partner cost more than buying direct?

No. The platform and the licensing are the same, and partner pricing may come in below direct. What differs most is who designs, deploys and supports it.

What does a Zoom Phone deployment actually involve?

A network readiness assessment, call flow design, number porting, device staging and configuration, a tested cutover plan, user training, and support afterward. The platform configuration is usually the quickest part.

How long does number porting take?

It depends on the carrier and the quantity, and it is not a timeline a partner controls. What a partner controls is whether the paperwork is correct on the first submission, which is the most common cause of delay.

Do we have to replace our existing phone system to use Zoom Phone?

Not always. Some organizations keep a premise system and change only the trunk, and some keep analog devices behind a gateway. Which path is right depends on what is in your building, which is what a site visit is for.

Great technology deserves a great implementation
