Phone system hacking can leave you with a huge long distance bill and provide criminals with access to other systems on your network. As one of our clients found out recently, the use of an easy-to-guess password can wreak havoc.
Here are a few tips on devising effective passwords:
- Do not use a phone number or extension as the system password.
- Use a random number generator to design a password.
- If your password is easy to remember, then it is no good. Passwords that you can’t remember are best.
- When people leave your organization, immediately revoke access privileges to phone and IT systems.
